ok thanks for that! i've done 100+ keys to vehicles with EWS system & not had a single problem with data mismatch yet. I always save the original EWS eeprom file & have even got a couple of EWS modules in the garage for just in case anything did go wrong

that initialization procedure is purely for the remote locking. A brand new unprogrammed key will not start the car if the transponder isn't programmed to the EWS If programming a key to start the car was done by the resync method you've mentioned then it would be a seriously crap security...
