Fitted everything back together yesterday and it all seems to work fine,fitted a snow cowl so hopefully it will keep all the rain and crap from getting to the blower motor.Thanks to all that answered.

Will refit it all tomorrow and see if it works then, will let you know how I get on.

I connected the fan to a battery when it was on the bench and it spun ok but when I disconnected the battery the fan would not spin freely so I think it's knackered,does anybody know the difference between the old and new blower motors as one is a lot dearer than the other.

I have just taken the heater out because the fan kept blowing the fuse when turned on,I have taken the fan out of the heater and it will not spin freely,I have removed the circlip from the shaft but cannot remove the fan is there a way to get this off so I can get at the motor to see if I can...

Will do that ,hopefully that will cure it.

I have a 1996 defender 90 300tdi and the heater blower motor is stuck,i am buying a new one,will the early one fit (rtc 4200) or should I get the later one(Utp 1911).The early one is a lot cheaper and looks like it would fit.

Fitted 2 new door switches,changed battery in keyfob and found a fuse had blown,replaced this now everything works as it should.Thanks to all who replied and pointed me in right direction.Cheers

Just received 2 new switches today will fit them tomorrow and see what happens.

Will try new battery tomorrow,would that be the reason the horn and interior light and headlight flash don't work?

Have ordered new door switches as they looked a bit corroded ,hope this cures it ,will let you know.

I have a 1999 p38a with a 4.0 gems engine the engine will not idle smoothly, i have fitted new spark plugs and leads and i have checked the vacuum pipes for any splits in them, does any one have any ideas what it could be? Thanks Gareth.

1999 p38 range rover 4.0 gem engine starts ok but when engine is warm idle speed drops low and does not accelerate cleanly feels like engine is missing have put new plugs in and new leads could be something blocked? there is some white gunge when i take the oil filler cap off. Any ideas anybody...
