no, not unique at all. it seems they built the 2004 discos from whatever was available in the stock. some have egr coolers, some do not. and all of them are EURO 3. btw mine is LHD made for german market.

mine is made in 03/2004, registered in 10/2004. the engine is 15P EURO3 with no EGR cooler - same as yours. the bolts on the exhaust manifold went out quite easily, few gentle taps with a hammer on the hex spanner and that was all what was needed.

Be aware you need not only the seats but also panel trims, headrests, seatbelts and a bucket of bolts and nuts.

where did you find a hub for £100? ebay? from what i read these cheap unbranded hubs usually last around than 10k

there is one o ring that seals the hub to the axle. it leaks very seldom. usually it is the internal seal inside the hub that leaks. unfortunately, this internal seal is not replaceable.

that works for defender and disco 1. not for disco 2, the hub is not dismantable here. if it leaks it must be replaced.

i have got same symptoms, just oil leak, no noise, no play in bearings. i think the wheel hubs needs to be changed. just cannot decide which one to buy. there are some on ebay for 100 quid, britpart for about 160, and oem with timken bearings for 200 quid.

yes, it was tight..actually, it was replaced with a new one with thread-locker (genuine LR part) last year. The original one did not have any thread-locker.

I have a stock Discovery Td5 with Pirrelli ATR tires. Last full tank 8.8l/100km which is about 32mpg. This is the best figure i got so far. On average my disco takes between 27 to 30mpg.
