Cool! Would that work on an older 90 (1986)

    200tdi vs v8

How about a Flat Six... I own one of them... I a proper car mind you!

Black smoke anything to worry about ?

You could get your injectors cleaned and tested. It might make some difference. The older diesel car without particle filter do manage to produce quite a smoke screen sometimes!

    200tdi vs v8

Neither! Get yourself a 2.8i from South Africa. I own a 200Tdi 90 and love it! The diesel engine fits the 90 very well. Due to changes in Dutch laws if now makes more sense to convert my 90 to petrol. I'd love to convert it to the 2.8i M52 BMW straight six engine!

    3.5 V8 efficiency

I don't like LPG on carburetted cars. The modern LPG direct injected systems are OK though. If you want better MPG buy a diesel powered defender. Less maintenance as well. If you want GPG keep filling it with petrol :-)

    Stolen from Work

At that age the insurance company should pay out what a new or nearly new one would cost, surely?!

    New 110 Owner

Every land rover needs work done to it at any given time. But as long as the chassis is solid and the engine running I'd say put it on your drive and enjoy it. When the time comes that it starts costing money you will love it so much you will be willing to spend it ;-)

PU40 vs Sikaflex 291 vs Tiger Seal?

Another vote for Sikaflex. I used it ona variety of jobs on yachts, in my opinion the best you can buy.

    200Tdi to V8 conversion

Hi all, My 1986 Defender was the courtesy car at Marcos Heritage and Spares (Pikes land rover) for a good many years. The car was fitted with the 200Tdi over there. The car was sold to a customer of them that used to bring his marcos in for service over there. He always got to use the...

    200Tdi to V8 conversion

Thanks for the advice. I will be looking into buying a donor car than. I might even be tempted to buy a good running defender V8 so everything I need will be available. Turning the car into an automatic might be a good idea, but i want it to look as stock as possible. I think an LT85 gearbox...
