Evening all
As I was driving home tonight, I noticed black smoke bellowing from the exhaust.
This only happened when I stuck my foot down.

should I be worried or is it simply unburnt fuel :whoosh:

It's a 200tdi 1992

If it didn't do it before. check if your air filter and things are all clean and in order.
If you can't find anything wrong, don't worry though :)

if its only when banging ya foot hard down probably fine but should be only under load or foot on floor scenario, if it starts to do it warmed up and cruising then worry a bit more

cool
cheers guys
It was very satisfying looking in my side mirror and belching black smoke on some idiot in a merc that tried to cut me up ;)

yes, I'm quite fond of doing it to prius owners. It's one of the reasons I wouldn't mind a side exit in order to blench it in their windows as I pass them on climbing lanes :D

You could get your injectors cleaned and tested. It might make some difference.

The older diesel car without particle filter do manage to produce quite a smoke screen sometimes!
