headgasket is fine, not long been rebuilt from having piston work 18k ago. shall get it tested, i only asked where the pump was at i see it looks like a mini fan going round on the left hand side of the block, does it need to have a cover over the front as mine hasnt???

Hi all, wonder if you could shed some light on this for me. I have a 1994 300tdi and i seem to loose water on long journeys, if i go on the motorway the coolant light comes on after about 30 miles, yet around town its never come on, only ever at speed or long journeys, i got no water leaks...

lol cheers for the reply guys, didnt think it was going to take so much work, will probably look down the route of upping the power of the diesel, intercooler and fuel pump etc.
