I have read stories of cracking heads on the ones up to the vin no 2A 736339 which must have plastic dowels. I would rather re fit plastic ones if it should have plastic ones than risk cracking a head.

thanks for the replies. A bloke at work has a y reg and his seats lock in solid. I have had a good look at them and can't see a reason why they move. The mechanism all looks fine. Something has started to rattle behing the clove box one its warmed up so thats my next job. Its dam anoying!!!

Hi, just re joined the disco owners club :). I have noticed that the rear seat (not the 6th&7th seats) back rests seem to move back and forth about an inch even though they are locked in. Is this how they are? or should they lock in firm like any other seat.

i had it plugged in but nothing showed up. i am just going to cut my losses and sell it as spares or repairs while it still drives. i have my heart set on a td5 disco (manual!)

i swapped the valve block and its still the same. Must be an issue in the box itself. Worth a try though.
