Hi All, just won a roof rack off ebay for my defender 90. so I need to buy a ladder. ladders seem to be spilt between box section, and those that have a cutout for the numberplate. should I worry about slightly covering the plate, do I need to look out for different fixings (drill and bolt...

Replaced the passenger and rear door locks - now all the doors match. replaced the indicator switchgear. cleaned the rust off the steering shaft. tried to undo the bolts on the rear non existant bump stops - grinder needed!!! checked fluids.

Re glued the carpet in the back. Replaced my front sealed beam headlights with halogens, Fixed the rear fog light wiring, ate 1/2 a pack of chocolate biscuits in the process. Wrote a list of things I still need to do

Don't know about the alternator.... I'll check but I'm assuming no based on my experience with the previous owner. I'm working towards a camping vehicle...inverter etc etc with extra lights, so I don't want to end up flat. MM

Hi All, I'm looking at fitting a dual battery system to my 90, but I have discovered that its currently fitted with a large truck type (much wider than a car) battery under the passenger seat. (I say fitted, but it slides around) I have see dual batteries before so I'm assuming the standard...

Sucessful : Started wiring up my front spots to my Raptor dash, (with wifes help!!!), wired in my turbo boost guage, and my radio aerial. Unsucessful : Tried to remove the steering link, but don't seem to have enough play to slide it up the splines enough to remove it. Wayne

Thats what I was told, by a friend (plod vehicle inspector), mine are enabled from a missile switch on the dash, but switched from the main beam feed via a relay. MM

I bought one. Its ok, but it could do with a handle on it as its a beast to move into place, and it does rotate around the brake pedal, possibly giving enough access to cut the pedal at least. I think for the normal scrot it is a deterent. MM

I wish he did, but most tyre companies are selling tyres, and possibly rims, but they will sell me what I want, and the problem is I don't know what I want hence the post. I've also gone through 4 separate landy magazines, and 2 Haynes manuals, and most of the defender workshop manual downloaded...

I'm confused. I have a 1986 90, with a 200TDI engine. I'm currently running on standard LR white steel rims (not wolfs) , with 7.50 R16 tyres, and a duff tubed spare. I'm looking to upgrade to something that looks good and offers good value (grabber AT's???), but I'm a little confused on sizes...
