Hi All,

trying to get a handle on my Defender 90, (200tdi '94 body & Electrics) wiring. The main bundle of wires than exits rear driverside has a purple wire that should be connected to something as the end of it has snapped off, but I cannot for the life of me work out what it is. I have ID'd all the other wires, but cannot find any reference in haynes or the parts manual to a purple wire at the back, plus I seem to have all the other functions working and ID'd.

I have a relay (indicator
??) that ticks quickly behind the fusebox when nothing is on, (engine running), but goes away when I press the brakes, or use the indicator (I'm assuming its an earth fault, so it might be related.

Any ideas as to my purple wire? Its feeling lonely

Cheers

Not sure if it's not an auxilary live feed to power accesories that could be specified. It should be of heavier gauge than the rest. Well it is on my 86 110

Unless you're missing an interior light it's a spare wire for a fag lighter or similar and should be permanantly live.

It's a fused permanent live, intended for either the 12S Caravan Socket, or a rear Accessory Power Socket.

I've used it to power the rear Work Lamps on my 110.

.

may be of help
