Don't know for sure, but.... If it runs cleanly (no stutters and the power is smooth and linear) If it's standard otherwise If the airfilter is clean If there's no water in the system (would likely make for poor running) If the filter is new I'd go for the diffs. :(

Yes, this is making me think twice about the possible risk of damaging my CAV pump vs the cost saving against pump diesel. :( I can use the Costco or Booker but not been lately - much cheaper? PS what mix of veg:diesel are you using and for how long??

Have you checked that the accelerator linkage moves the injection pump control lever fully when the pedal is 'to the metal'? Not really sure what a 2.5 is like but my 2.25 makes 55 on the clock, flat out (agonisingly loud and not for anyone with a sense of mechanical sympathy) Diesel Landys...

Hi - my SIII is a diesel, so I'm not sure what the carby is like on a petrol one, but I'd check the float bowl and the needle valve. Condenser is also cheap to change to eliminate. Good luck

Read somewhere that diesel fuel is good at penetrating rusted threads, doesn't dry out as quickly as WD-40. Good luck.

Worth removing the steering column covers, to inspect the connections onto the fusebox. There may be something wrong with those.. Otherwise I'd check earths........ Good luck with it.

Hi - on top of running a 3.9 Disco with UL at £1.13 per litre, I am horrified at paying £1.28 per litre for Dino diesel for my *proper* Landy, so plan to mix something like 60 dino /40 veggie... Does anyone have real world experience of how well this will work? My hope is that there may be...

You could check the immobiliser spider - its a black box containing some electronics and relays, buried in the dash - they are notorious for having bad solder joints and can affect starter, ignition and fuel pump on petrol models, also the fuel cut off solenoid on diesels. A google or dig round...
