But werent the Santana landys supplied in CKD form? Or where they wholly built in spain? Therefore you`d still have to go to the trouble of building that bulkhead. I actually thought the swiss landy in the pic looked like it had something like the bottom half of a LWT bulkhead on it. Years...

I know some of the guys from Dunsfold, worked with them a few years back but I fell out of the LandRover fraternity alas. Do you have any pics? Ive tried searching but nothing seems to come to mind.

Nah, its not a Santana - the only spanish ones ive seen look pretty much the same as "normal" ones. Except those stretch LWT ones. They must have made quite a few of these Swiss ones though, why go to all the trouble of making that odd bulkhead jus for a couple of motors? Could understand...

It looks like a standard 90 roof to me (if one would fit - never tried it), but really all ive got to go on is this pic. Ive tried scouring the web, but nothing has come to light yet. Tom.

Took my `92 V8 auto off-road a few time, not noticed anything untowards like that happening. But it does seem odd with an auto......

Little bit more.... STILL got the Rangie :) still runs, still goes, only not MOT`d yet :) Working at Land-Rover solihull on the Defender line for the time being, though used to work for MVS Ltd and Leavesley International a few years ago. Built my SIII up from bits and pieces then sold it...

My 1980 SIII had the older straight slidey-glass ones. And yes, they rusted like no-ones business! The early 90/110s ive seen had both types fitted, then again, so did alot of the Series Vehicles I've seen. I guess it came down to what parts they had in stock to fit the vehicle.

I reckoned that about 3/4 of the LWB ones that passed thru our hands were 12v. LWT`s probably about half. All of the 101`s and series/101 ambulances were 12v. Were you in the mob then Slob?

My old SIII LWB 12V was ex-MoD and I`m sure the springs had an extra 2" on civvy ones. Although...I didn`t see many of them when I worked in the trade (MVS ltd 1999-2003) as they`d mostly been sold by the time I started there. I think the SII`s were mostly cast in favour of the LWT.

Ok, it`ll bite. Mind you, does hector? If it`s the goat, I`ve already got a lawnmower :) Started work at Land-Rover this week, dunno how long i`m gonna be there though, i`ve been doing alot of stock-taking so far.....
