Hello,
For this I really kick myself, I bought my discovery last week a 1992 K 200 tdi, just to tow things around with, both my son's loved it so I couldn't leave it there could I?....
It's as rusty as hell!
The boot floor is awful, front inner wings not too bad but have got some corrosion.
Other than that it runs well (165000 on the clock) and it appears to have had quite a few parts changed over the years.
Anyway, the car did not have the advisory notice for the MOT (surprise) so I checked this on VOSA, it mentions severe corrosion rear end etc, and "Sales car undersealed", no wonder he "lost" it.
The large chassis mounts under the extreme rear end have been undersealed and look to be welded is that BAD?!!!!
Have I bought a heap of **** or can we get a car out of it?
If your wondering why I didn't check it over completely I really didn't expect that kind of corrosion on a 1990's car, like going back to the 1970's.It does have an MOT, it cost £1700.
What do you think?

yer a fooking idiot for paying 1700 He saw you coming FFS you didn't buy it from a fat bloke in Stourbridge did you. It sounds just like the one I sold to Sirus for £400.

Yes I know, impulse buying???Do you know what makes it worse? What could make it worse?
I'm in the motor trade......(shake head)
No I didn't buy it from a fat bloke, reg is K530EVC if that's any help.
Go on, everyone tell me how daft I've been I've earned it.

Just rang the bloke ,going back tomorrow, full refund.
I expect it won't be that easy Steve ,Steve and big Fred will probably be there!Said the car was probably worth about 850 ,he could pay the difference but he didn't like that.

Update,I returned with the car and we went through it they had a look, didn't realise it was that bad...., obviously not going to be able to sell it quite so quickly next time so to cut a long story short I could have left it there and got the refund or take it for what it was really worth...
So we still own it but for about a third of the orginal price.
I have learnt a lesson here and was very lucky to escape, I just did not think they went so bad!
I can weld so I'll repair the boot floor, I had a look at the others on here and it is half as bad as redhand's, the metal towards the rear seat seems okay but I have holes near the door.
C
