    South East Garage Recommendation??

Only on the tyre side - no complaints. A friend has used them for his disco though and seemed happy.

    South East Garage Recommendation??

Given your location, the workshop side of AJS Tyres at Reigate Hill has to be worth a call.

Back with G4 roof rail query

Hi everyone.for the past year, I've been around the corner in P38-land but I've seen the light and have a 53-reg Disco 2 V8 lpg. All is fine but I'm a bit mystified by the big tubular G4-style roof rails. Does anyone know what accessories are available for them, such as cross bars etc, and where...

An economy question for ALL P38 owners...

4.0 HSE auto on LPG. 20mpg at 80p/litre = about £14.50 per 100 miles, plus a few pennies for petrol from cold start.

How much is LPG in your area?

Horsham area this afternoon: Four Seasons Fuel, Coneyhurst (A272) - 65.0p Shell - Hop Oast (A24) - 74.4p The easiest 7 quid I've ever saved!

    P38 boot box

With my spare wheel well full of LPG, I decided to try making a storage box. If anyone's interested, this the result so far. I used a sheet of WISAhex as used for van floors. I still need to paint the cut edges and decide on which stay-open method to use (strap & hook on tailgate frame or metal...

If I bought new! How long would it take to loose 40k

If you're in a hurry, pay full price for one tomorrow and I'll give you £40k less immediately. Looking at the LR used website, paying £40k less than a new car would probably buy you an 08-reg.

    Steering wheel removal

Maybe I was lucky but i replaced my wheel without disconnecting the battery. I removed the fuses for airbag (23) and horn (41 - to avoid annoying the neighbours). I also disconnected the airbag power connecter behind the rh lower trim panel. The nearest I had to a problem was replacing the...

    P38 clunking in reverse

A couple of times today, when I've been reversing on the snow and the traction control has activated, there's been a clunking that sounds like it's coming from the front right corner. Any ideas?

Maybe an answer for all the queations about LPG

Re reduced vehicle duty on LPG, group for group you should be paying £10 less. You could only get London Congestion Charge exemption if your car was on the Powershift Register, and as I remember, there were no Land Rovers listed (the site is currently down so I can't confirm). In any case, that...

    Those who have gone LPG...

Just got back from a 3 day trip from Sussex to mid Wales in my 2002 4.0HSE auto . Mix of motorway at 75-80mph, sensible driving on A-roads and about 10 miles in low range, the computer shows 19.3mpg. The computer seems pretty accurate compared to bills. Best so far was a trip to Millbrook in the...

    p38 changing battery

You can get your handbook and loads of other stuff FOC from LandRover.com . Follow Owners, Servicing & Maintenance, Handbooks & Owners, Take me to the owners information website, or just take this shortcut to the TOPIx front page - TOPIx - TOPIx .

    4.0 p38 lack of power

According to the handbook, the cap is meant to vent on the first half turn, and you shouldn't remove it until it stops hissing. That's what mine does, so I guess yours is normal.

    Water filled air compressor

When my rear end suffered terminal sag and the 30A fusible link blew every time the engine started, I was expecting to shell out for a new compressor. But being able to think of better things to spend £300 on, and believing that what man has made, man can repair, I dismantled the compressor...

    Views on General Grabber AT2s?

The only major problem with my newly acquired Disco 2 TD5 is the tyres, two rather perished Michelins on the back and some terrible Chinese cheapskate specials up front. My old Disco 300TDi had BFG A/Ts which I found to be good all-rounders, but they aren't available in 255/65 16. The nearest...

    I've been away

Back in the winter I ran a modern car for work and my much loved '95 Disco 300TDi for fun. Then a brain storm saw me end up with a new Freelander 2 and an old Vito van. The FL2 wasn't really up to long relaxing motorway trips and was too shiny for green laning. But I'm better now. Last week saw...
