Obviously the best way is to buy a converted one but the cost of conversion is worth it, over 25,000 miles at 17mpg on petrol against 14mpg on gas will give a £2800 saving on current prices more than enough to pay for a decent converstion.
 
My P38 with sequential omvl does 14 mpg on gas. Bear in mind that will include petrol used on start up also car computer can't be used because it doesn't take lpg into consideration.

I know what you all mean about buying one thats aleady done, but my reasons for getting a non LPG car are as follows:

More choice when buying a non - LPG RR.
Lower mileage cars available
Non LPG cars cheaper in the current climate
I get to choose where the conversion is carried out
I get a warrantly with the conversion so any issues wont cost me £££'s
I intend to keep the car for a while as well.
 
If you've got the dosh lying around I wouldn't worry about the cost of conversion (its alot cheaper now than it used to be) or how long til you recoupe your £'s. I think its a mental thing, paying to fill up on petrol is driving me mental:) getting near the £100 mark to fill up the rangie again, if we have a week of short journeys we're lucky to see 250 miles on that!! I know I'd rather I was filling up for £55, I'd soon forget about the £1500 it cost to convert. Er indoors would only go and spend it on a new washing machine, dining table, curtains and cushions or a cobination of all of em' So might aswell spend it on something usefull:rolleyes:

Agree with you entirely, but the op is talking about converting a 1995, which o.k. somebody may choose to love and cherish and run for the next 10 years.... but on paper its an end of life vehicle.

I agree, on an older RR it makes less sense but each to their own.

I will also soon forget about the install cost when I fill up my V8 for £50ish lol.

Just booked mine in for the 20th November for the install.
 
Yup, took the advice from the post to sell it and get something that does better MPG standard! :)

Appreciate all your input, my tank takes about £120 to fill to the brim with petrol :p Constantly throwing £20's in, every night.
 
If MPG is a concern, a Range Rover isn't an ideal runabout.
I managed only 90 miles for £30 of LPG @ 59p per litre. If you work that out, its single figures and actually horrifying to think about haha. (Just done a calculation for my own sick sense of humour.....8.02 MPG. Thats what I get for leaving the engine running while the wife goes into Tesco for an hour shopping 2 or 3 times a week).
 
This is my 3rd P38 a 4.6HSE 1999 with 140,000 on the clock.As with all the others it has the sequential LPG system which is great.On a short run I average 16to 17mpg on gas and on longer runs up to 22mpg.I pay 60p per litre which is about the going rate around here.Having had the luxury of driving this fantastic vehicle over the years I won't even consider driving anything less.It was an eye opener the other day when the switch at the back failed and I had to run on petrol for just a week.To be honest I just could not afford to run it for any length of time on petrol , I would say if it's a good one,go for it and enjoy the luxury and unique driving experience of this £50.000.when new vehicle.
 
I can get £75 worth of gas in my tanks haha!

I'd like to do it but do not want to pay outrageous prices for some brackets

theres something wrong there..unless you driving it like its stolen??

mine did that last week..did 2 loads of gas before i decided to sort it...was just the ecu had lost its programme..(no idea why)got the software out,did the calibrate and now its back to normal..ie 17mpg on gas in town driving it like its a hire car (but not stolen)..

you might want to try that unless its that bad on petrol tooooooo.
