just pulling up to a junction and when changing gear pedal went to the floor and no clutch , got towed in and can see fluid under bell housing , so is it the slave cylinder and where is it , does the gearbox have to come out and can i do it on the drive or is it one for the garage boys any help...

i had similar noises before ird unit packed up,actually it was in bits all the teeth on pinion were stripped

i have been driving on front wheel drive for about 6 wks , took prop of completely and blanked ird box , we have taken it on country lanes and moutain lanes and no probs , dont think fuel saving is that noticable

i have been driving like this for a month now and its a great improvement around town driving , i took the complete prop shaft of and blanked the ird unit with a plate , better mpg as well

well itook all that i could of , and put the blanking plate on the ird and everything seems to be ok at the mo , fingers crossed , drives well in two wheel , the most driving it gets is when we take the dog out to the shore and thats only 15 ml round trip

on mine, the pinion wheel was damaged and was causing the noise so i had to remove the lot

you will need instant gasket buy the plate on ebay , its self explanatory , im a painter and made up my own plate , its that easy ,

the drive pinion is still attached take the 5 nuts off and you wll have a hole to fill , i made my own or you can buy them on ebay

i removed the complete prop including the pinion drive that goes into the ird unit as there was damage to the teeth on it and the internal crown wheel had damage , the noise was real bad , so i made up a plate and blanked off where the pinion wheel was and im driving it as front wheel drive ...

haynes is being bought this week ,was trying to get an internal view of the ird but the cd dont give it , seems to be ok at the mo , fingers crossed lol
