Hi folks TD4, 2005, manual. i'd found my gears sticky and hard to engage, it was worse on starting and improved with use. my mechanic took it to the local landy guy who diagnosed clutch cylinder, so we replaced it. day after replacment it was worse than before. i was driving from belfast to cork...

I had same problem with mine about May time, the tapping worked, however i had more success jiggling the wires going into the motor. it happened intermittently and has not happened in months now. :confused:

I bought my 05 TD4 at auction and was a bit scared that i was a bit stupid. Had it 12 months and love it. I've had to fit a tuning box from rover ron and no 3 injector needs replacing but i have done really loads of miles. last winter was a dream in it and muddy fields this summer camping...

I'm puzzled by a beeping that my ) 05 TD4 does occasionally. Sometimes when i stop, or sometimes when I get into the car the light under the speedo flashes and beeps. The first time it happened i had a trailer on but there is no aparent (to me :o) cause. Any suggestions?:confused:

I love my FL too Russel, and I love this site, the recommendation for a MAF kit from rover ron transformed the cars performance and saved me a fortune! Meanwhile, I was not able to get any of the recommended tyres in my size 15" at short notice so rather than fail the MOT my local (and trusted)...

I get about 460 miles out of a full tank on mostly out of town driving and i use millers.

thanks eightinavee. it starts ok but i notice that it can take two goes on cold damp mornings. it has a new fuel pump fitted just before i bought it a few months ago. i've one of rover rons tuning boxes and it runs well but is defo a bit sluggish on cold damp mornings.

thanks northern irelander, i wiggled the conections to the starter and have had no bother since. fingers crossed a loose connection is all it was.

Hi i'm wanting to replace my glow plugs on an 05 td4. I think bosch glow plugs are a good job but cannot find a part number for them in my on-line searches. Can anyone tell me if there is a bosch plug for a td4 and if so which type. thanks a mill and apologies if this info is somewhere else on here.

after failing to start the AA diagnosed the starter motor and showed me how to start it by tapping the motor while someone else turns the key. I'll have to get a permanent fix and can't do the work myself, bearing in mind i'll have to pay either way would you suggest fixing it or replacing it as...

i had this happen while away over the weekend, called the AA and he diagnosed the starter, which he bopped with a small hammer while i turned the key. this worked. i then had to repeat this action a few times from stopped, the fault comes and goes but i'll now check the wires on the starter...
