The petrol engine is certainly better than the diesel. However, an S2A is going to be much more money than a S3. The S3 is pretty much bottom of the price range for series Land Rovers.

Managed to get the engine running. Have now moved onto the removing the ball joints. One has come off easy, but another one is being difficult. Looks like the Angle Grinder will be coming out to get that one off.

I get about 19 to 25 out of my 2.25D with an overdrive. I never expected anything more than that. The technology is very old and the gearbox is also ancient. I do think about the diff change and a 300tdi transplant, but at that point I may as well sell up and buy a Defender :(

All Terrains should be fine. Pirelli Scorpians, BFG ATs or the Coopers should be alright :) Doing a search will come up with many threads on the subject. Takes ages to filer through them in my experience.

Bad connections or a bad earth? Take apart connections and and clean. I believe the problem is quite common. My series had issues with the indicators, but they have no fixed them selves :)

You won't get a 90 for £1k. If you do it will probably be an MOT failure. You could squeeze a series 3 in at £1k. Spent £1200 and you should be able to get something with a reasonable ticket on it.

They look a great idea. They might even fit in the roof area between the top of the side panels and the top of the roof. You could even hide the wiring in the interior roof channel. Four of those would probably make enough noise to at least keep you entertained in the traffic jams :)

I don't think they are turning off FM until about 2015. Also remember that turning off analogue TV signals had the year changed three times.
