    Tracker recommendations, please

AirTag is a great backup option - I’ve got one hidden in mine too - but not really a replacement for a proper tracker. Given how cheap they are though you’d be daft not to stash one away somewhere! Metal kills their range though so it’s a good idea to be creative about where you hide an AirTag.

    Tracker recommendations, please

The Thatcham rated trackers come in two flavours, S7 and S5. S5 being the more advanced. I recently had a 'SmarTrack' S7 tracker installed, no complaints from me though I haven't, and hopefully will never have to use it in anger. You can use the app to set up geofence and ignition...

    Tow Rope/cable

I haven't done that though have I. I've come to a forum in search of gaining a bit of information and basic knowledge from people with experience. Precisely because I don't want to do anything dangerous or daft, as I'm not a fecking moron. There's absolutely no need whatsoever for your...

    Tow Rope/cable

Here's a clearer photo of the back of my car. It's a genuine Land Rover part - it's got these rings attached to it, would it be safe to attach a bow shackle to these for recovery, or would I still be better off just attaching the loop of a tow strap directly to the tow ball? If not, I am...

    Tow Rope/cable

Hi all This is going to be a daft question for you experts I know. I've recently bought 2.4 Puma, it's come with what I assume is a factory fitted standard tow bar, the sort you'd use to tow a caravan (I am not a caravanophile). I know nothing about towing but I do know you are never...

    Rear slide window inserts

Level 5; "LOVE LOVE FECK FECK QUICK GET THE FIRST AID KIT AND SOME TOWELS HURRY UP I'M GOING TO DIE (on a serious note look up that video, it seems really easy it basically folds over the glass and just slides over)

    Rear slide window inserts

The guy from Britannica Restorations on YouTube did a very good video about this. I watched it as I think the felt on my new (to me) Puma county windows has perished too as they make a bit of a racket. He makes installing them look like an easy 30 second job. I suspect when I get round to...

    Defender 90 tdci alarm question

Pretty sure the lights work fine. I’ve had a tracker fitted, could it be this has activated some additional “safety” measures somehow?

    Defender 90 tdci alarm question

Hi folks I am the proud new owner of a rather lovely 2007 Defender 90 tdci. I was getting some gear ready to go hiking on Saturday and had the tailgate door open while faffing around, as you do. After a couple of minutes the central locking 'locked' itself, and then a couple of minutes after...

Buying a Puma / Roof Respray Cost?

Well, predictably, I now own this. Number plate starts with AF so I'm naming him Alfred, after Mr. Wainwright. Just driven a few hours home across some Yorkshire b roads and despite the obvious ear shattering creaks and rattles he drives very well. The brakes are a bit terrifying compared to...

Buying a Puma / Roof Respray Cost?

Would I be right in thinking chawton white is the correct paint code? https://paintman.co.uk/shop/land-rover-chawton-white-lrc603/?srsltid=AfmBOopHS60_foLdZ0Jb9vmnffQMvvUSSUjtW81unlmZdfVtq--tOk8S It look really 'dark' on that website.

Buying a Puma / Roof Respray Cost?

Well the mechanic who went to check it over this morning said that apart from the roof (paint and sunroof seals are borked) it's mechanically very sound with almost no corrosion and one of the better examples he's seen, so we could be on to a winner. Going to check it over myself (meaning 99%...

Buying a Puma / Roof Respray Cost?

Cheers - yeah the sunroof is something that I’m a bit wary of given their reputation for leaking! I’ve got an inspection being done by click mechanic tomorrow but have a list of stuff to check myself too. As you say rust is my number one thing to check. Hoping it isn’t knackered as it looks...
