hello it s not for the egr but for release to ambiant air pressure the vacum system that command the variable nozzle turbo. that why this filter is connected one way to ""electrovanne" of turbo and other way to nothing (ambiant air)

it s not the motor but the sensor that you must cool, my friend put a buck of water on the sensor :-) but a pb on this sensor is the motor crank but not start so i dont think it solve you pb if you starter is not running! bye
