Im fitting a second hand snorkel that came with the wrong air hoses so I need to put a reducer between the supplied hose and the dirt trap. Does anyone know the diameter of the existing hose into the dirt trap which is part # ESR 3028 please?

At an autojumble I bought a bargain safari snorkel little used for my 96 300tdi. On getting it home I realise it is actually the kit for a V8. If I change the hose can I still use the snorkel itself or do I need to sell the whole kit and start again? Buyer beware and all that but grateful for...
