hi, after a long wait for a local-ish used dog guard to come up, I now find that that fixing kit is obsolete :(
Would anyone have a set in the back of a drawer, or even installed, that they're not needing please?
Fingers crossed... Priya
Hi RangerSi, just over a year ago I was in the same position as you. After a gearbox oil change, and a remap from the above-mentioned Mike at Dynachip, it's like a different car, and quieter too. Highly recommended.
Just to add to brian47's post about getting a key cut from a photo, I contacted the guy a few months ago regarding a snapped key. I sent him photos as he suggested of the two bits pushed together (they were a precise fit) and he sent me a new key blade from that. And it works.
I thought I had an intermittent problem with the catch on mine and ordered a new one. Before I got round to fitting it I discovered, like brian47, that an extra click or two when screwing the filler cap back on solved it.
So I have a spare catch here if you need one...
Hehe. I have some spare mats as well if you need any - front and middle. Do you have anything to swap? I need a 16" alloy wheel with a 255/65 tyre (tyre's more important really as my current spare is the wrong size).
I got new gaiters from these guys a few months ago and they're superb. VERY precisely cut, nicely made and they smell nice too. Second purchase from this company so highly recommended...
InCarTec are based in Exeter and do installs too if you get stuck. I have an Alpine HU in my 2004 TD5 and they sorted out the steering controls for me. I'd happily recommend them.
I had this happen, luckily without the overheat because I heard straightaway that something sounded different. Replaced top hose (only because someone unhelpfully pushed the bleed screw bit in) and got a new expansion tank cap and all has been well since then.
I've seen used fog lamp units come up for sale now and then. A good source for used parts I've found is HLR Spares in Taunton. They have a website but it's best to call for up to date stock. Free delivery too.
I've got a spare one here if you want to have a go. It won't be any good as a replacement as the bleed screw and thread are missing, but the hose is intact.

As Brian47 said, it will take a few cleans of the ECU plug(s) after changing the injector loom before you stop seeing oil in it. I've done mine 2 or 3 times in a couple of months and finally it seems dry.
Hi, my 2004 TD5 has the dark coloured decal/lettering on the bonnet and it's looking weathered. Anyone know what they're made of and what can be used to restore them please?
I had some fantastic help with a broken ignition key recently from a facebook group member, so if you haven't ordered a replacement yet, I can tell you how to get the broken key out and replaced if that's what you'd like to do? You could even do that anyway in anticipation of your new key...
Hi guys,
Cooling system question again please but completely unrelated to my last question.
Snapped expansion tank return hose, temporarily fixed by RAC by roadside & system refilled with water.
Now need a new radiator because the snapped bit is the plastic moulding on the top right of the rad...
