    M62 VANOS REMOVAL TOOL?

What are pump pliers? Chap on full fat suggests a 32mm plumbers box spanner? The Evilbay prices for solenoids do seem very cheap compared to thems from stealers/specialists? Will test the solenoids ohms and hopefully get away with a good clean?

    M62 VANOS REMOVAL TOOL?

Hiya Peeps! Back on again! I want to remove, clean or replace my Vanos solenoids. Question is, where do I get the deep reach 32mm socket from, BMW dealers etc.. or modify a deep reach off evilbay? Any help would be great.

    Nanocom nightmare!!!

Sorted now, sat in the car until 2am, it wasn't going to beat me! By accident I realised that the tool will only read BECM with ignition off whereas Engine needs to be running for comms and just ignition on for HEVAC testing? Nothing about this in any of Nanocoms destructions or on-line support...

    Nanocom nightmare!!!

I popped out tonight to have a play, deleted 1 & 2 which then kept coming back so replaced them with the original ?????, not sure if that is correct way to delete? Still showing as locked out. Going to check the obd2 connector in the morning with my Icarsoft to make sure that isn't the issue.

    Nanocom nightmare!!!

Just checked the on-line site..... should have been boxes 7 and 8, will have another crack at it in the morning, too bloody complicated for my simple head!

    Nanocom nightmare!!!

I have two codes...... Engine and other ECU's. Went on BBS website to confirm sign up details, pin etc.. Will drop them a line. Did all the upper/lower sh1te quite a few times. Codes stored OK on the tool and in section 1 and 2 as first time use. Some of the vids show tool with an SD card in, is...

    Nanocom nightmare!!!

Hiya Peeps! Ongoing.... how the fook do you set a Nanocom tool up? I am feeling like a right plumb, read the vague destructions, watched the limited vids and followed it all to the letter, FUNCTION LOCKED!? I have gone on-line, imputed User ID and entered the relevant unlock codes for Engine and...

    P38 Nanocom neebie!

It is for two, one is a 96 with 89k and the better one cosmetically is a 99 189k with hot start issue. The chap is a diesel mechanic and thought a leaking pump was a simple fix on the P38 but it turned into a can of worms for him, so he put it all back together and pretended it never happened...

    P38 door handle repair.

I am a lazy chap, takes me a few cuppas and a pack of biscuits before I start a job, I also look at the easiest way to do it. I needed to replace a broken privacy lock thingy on my driver's door handle.... the retaining pin is easily drilled out with a Cobalt 2mm bit, no need for dremels etc...

    P38 Nanocom neebie!

So chappy turned up with the Nanocom reader yesterday. No luck, later found out after some googling that the tool needs the access code, doh! So he is back next weekend. If anyone is interested he has a couple of P38 diesels for sale listed on fb market place, both with long MOT, one has hot...

    P38 Nanocom neebie!

Seems a universal agreement, don't buy cheap glow plugs! Thanks for the email and attachments. I might just be too fussy about the hesitation on starting and more grateful that it starts? I am getting used to the relaxed forward motion and to be fair the old gal does pick up her skirt when the...

    P38 Nanocom neebie!

Yep, all the vids I have watched are on LHD vehicles.... that looks easy enough.... ah, not so easy for RHD, doh!

    P38 Nanocom neebie!

Here I go off topic... again! I want to flush my brake fluid, do I need to go through the pain of bleeding the abs pump and the little dance routine needed or just bleed the brakes like any other vehicle. I am not removing any lines or caliper just need to change the old fluid.

    P38 Nanocom neebie!

Can you test the glow plugs with Nanocom? My P38 takes about 15 secs of cranking when cold to start, I do double cycle the glow plugs, starts instantly when warm/hot?

    P38 Nanocom neebie!

Yep, noticed on the Black Box vid that the calibration numbers don't seem to relate to rpms? As in pwood999 post 128?
