    Disco 2 Terrafirma lift

Hi, I changed my saggy Disco to Terrafirma "medium load +2" and have been over the moon with the ride, I tow a 3.5t trailer quite often but no off road, no more wollowing around bends......seems really planted on the road and solid. Paint seems ok, I own a powder coating company so if they...

Disco 1 Medium Duty or Heavy Duty

Hi AJC, I have just fitted the Terrafirma +2" medium duty kit and it's perfect, my original suspension was shot.....this has transformed the ride, very smooth almost as standard but with so much less body roll, the car feels solid but good. I also fitted the 30mm wheel spacers too, all quality...

Disco 2 DIY Alloy Refurb - Spray Question

I would say, try and save to get the wheels blasted and powder coated, I had mine done and matched to original darker silver, if you take the wheels to a coater your looking at £50-60 per wheel for strip/prime/powder coat & acrilic lacquer. Or £30-40 for strip and powder coat in a standard...

    Disco 1 Terrafirma +2" lift

Yes mate, replaced all shocks & springs, as needed it was sitting low at the back and was really soft..... The old stuff was done for :)

Disco 1 Head lining re trimming ideas

That looks really good, the discovery one is quite a bit more detailed and has big deep crevices "a bit more difficult" but I like the material you used.

Disco 1 Head lining re trimming ideas

Are they just for the plastic trim the headlining sits in?

Disco 1 Head lining re trimming ideas

I did it on mine, material & "high temp contact glue" costs about £40.00 but mine is done in standard felt "light oatmeal" it's 1000 times better than it was but not perfect......if I have to do it again, I would choose to do it in dark grey or black, if costs didn't come in to it I would put it...

    Falling out with My discovery

Remove them, blanking kit is about £15.00 and on pre 2006 D3 the engine management light won't even come on, I had the choice £250.00 to fit 1 new EGR then have the possibility of the other one going a few weeks later . No thanks!!! Bin them and plate them off .

Disco 300tdi progress & lift kit

It's been a while since posting on here and wanted to add a few things on the progress of Ol Chug-Chug! After the mammoth 2 week strip out, clean, weld , soundproof & refit. We have been to Scotland with the 2 dogs and loads of kit, used for work all over the country filled with tools.....and...

    Advice please.

Looks ok, the mileage is pretty good......2 ways to look at it, I bought cheap....looked reasonable but had obvious signs of rust in all the normal areas, spent 2 weeks stripping welding (i used to be a sheet metal worker) and repairing.....in the end I was left with a nearly fully sorted...

    Advice please.

Any thing can be sorted with time, money and loads of patience!!! try and get it as cheap as possible, the mileage is fine you see some with 200,000+ if regularly serviced. 2 ways to look at it........buy cheap and expect lots of work but in the end, you end up with a sorted Discovery that you...

Good old 300tdi with a little whining!!

I did replace lift pump, as other one was making a loud ticking noise, but it was doing the same before.....does sound like an air leak, I will have a good rummage through your list and see. Cheers 😊

Good old 300tdi with a little whining!!

Thank you for the reply, at the moment my Disco has a lovely ride, just sits slightly low on the rear......I certainly don't want a harsh ride, so may re-evaluate that idea 👍 I tow a 3.5ton trailer occasionally and it did pull the rear low.....could be tow bar set up/weight on trailer...

Good old 300tdi with a little whining!!

As my Discovery approaches nearly 20yrs old what a great all round bit of kit!! Yes......spent 2 weeks welding it up, stripping and cleaning it, fixing and repairing faults......and some funds on accessories, rubber matts, seat covers. Finally had my LED lights and stereo system fitted, my...
