are the terrafirma 2" lift kits any good? My disco is already on coils so am looking to swap over to the terrafirma kit, is it a straight forward swap?

It'll be a straightforward swap

I put a kit on 8 months ago. The ride on 18's is harsh, the paint on the springs is almost all gone.

If going again, I'd save up and go for something higher quality

The terrafirma is no more than OK, and it's cheapish too.

You get what you pay for at the end of the day

Cheers

Old man emu seems to be top stuff.
I've never used it, but it has good reports

Find bennehboys adventure thread and read it.

He's done about everything you could think of,

I use mine for towing a trailer, taking my dogs about and generally ****ing off bill oddie, it's never off road at all

Hi, I changed my saggy Disco to Terrafirma "medium load +2" and have been over the moon with the ride, I tow a 3.5t trailer quite often but no off road, no more wollowing around bends......seems really planted on the road and solid. Paint seems ok, I own a powder coating company so if they chip/rust/flake off we will blast & re-coat! But they have been on for at least 6 months and still look good.

For the money "I think they are great value"

Just fitted the same as above. No complaints, rides better.

After reading about the paint coming off I gave em a couple coats of Plastidip paint, goes on like rubber so should flex with the springs.

Be sure to replace the turret secure ring as you will sheer of at least one nut if not all of them.

Thanks. Gonna get the kit and put on hopefully by end of month, be glad to hopefully stop or limit the wallowing around so looking forward to it. Is it worth getting a up rated steering damper to?

What other kits r there?

I fitted the old man emu sports struts and heavy duty springs but on a D1. They cost a bit more, but well worth it. Compared to my mates D2 with terafirma, they are loads more stable and the difference is obvious, especially when negotiating roundabouts. That said, his ride is an improvement to the standard set up. You have to work within your budget though, and get the best you can for the money you have available.

TF ones are decent enough. Had one on mine for the past 3 years without any issues.
