Hi wrapt one, had same problem with my 300tdi I replaced fuel lines,lift pump,fuel filter and still had same problem, turns out my new lift pump was faulty ( genuine landrover part). Hope this helps

Lift pump is new and fuel filter and housing is new. Inline temp pry filter is before lift pump so this eliminates fuel filter/ housing leaking air

Do you mean fuel filter? I have replaced filter head/ housing as I suspected it was leaking. Replaced copper washers too.

I brought 2 filters just incase one was leaking but they are both the same, does the lift pump not act as a check/ non return valve?

The filter looks like a fish tank when engine is running with bubbles blowing from the feed side but there no bubbles at tank were I've fitted clear tube to test for air,

What's the difference between filter and clear plastic tube? My knowledge of diesels is very limited.

Jamesmartin inline filter was just to check for air, yes I have bypassed sedimenter and run a new line (8mm rubber hose) from sender unit to lift pump, suspected bends on sender unit that's why I removed sender unit and just dropped a length of 10mm micro bore into tank and connected to fuel...

The lift pump fitted is only 2 weeks young, fitted new filter and ended up fitting new filter housing as I suspected the bleed screw was leaking. I've got a check valve in garage will fit tomorrow.

I have checked everything. Seems when I leave fuel filler cap off it runs ok. I removed fuel tank vent and dismantled and cleaned it there was loads of crap in there I thought it was a rubber seal lol. Will it make a difference leaving fuel filler cap off. The mrs said won't the fuel evaporate...

here goes so far. released bleed screw on top of filter housing and manually pump fuel through till fuel comes out of bleed screw. tighten bleed screw and engine starts and runs ok, let it run for about 2 mins and released bleed screw again to check if fuel is getting through. no fuel comes out...

also should the fuel tank be pressureized? (when i remove fuel cap i get lots of air from tank) just released bleed screw on top of fuel filter housing and no fuel came out then engine cut out.

hi again guys, fitted new lift pump and new filter on tuesdayafter a drive out and problem happened again and rac said change lift pump. and all was well yesterday. then this morning after dropping kids off at school the same thing happened again total loss of power but engine still ticks over...
