    the manual missed out about the struggle to get the alternator off its mounting and out of the engine bay past all the other bits in the way

    the slot in the back plate may have rotted out, if so get a bolt and 2 washers fit a washer over the end of the bolt pass through the spring shoe and back plate put other washer over bolt use a nylonnut and do up just enough to apply tension on spring, will work till you get a new back plate

    lower arms easy if you have a big enough hammer and fork separator uppers not so much

    just to the left of the light is a sounder took me ages to find the corroded terminal on the back of it and stop the annoying noise coming from it

    cut a slot in the end of the chrome cover and peal it off with a Sharp chisel then use a smaller socket

    if you have Tc lining running round the system wont be long before you will need a gearbox rebuild

    dropped the prop shaft off waiting for the new bits

    if code is for a miss fire on 5 its not fuel rail pressure or it would show miss fire on more than one cylinder

    i had a miss fire on my xk8 which turned out to be a very small water leak dripping onto a coil pack, of cause when the engine was hot the evidence was evaporating

    props were the first thing i checked, im wondering if its engine as i had just filled up from a supermarket filling station

    all judder goes if i dip the clutch pedal whilst moving thats why i thought of flywheel

    be careful its not wired into the ignition system for remote shut down

    fitted new disks and pads to the rear, developed a squeaking noise over weekend, wheels nuts all feel tight

    drove the 50 mile back home now has the most horrendous vibration :(

    if you hit the fuel tank your way off target, if you make it too big you can always fit a riv nut

    cut it off flush the drill using a small bit first slowly increasing in size
