Interesting question. I reckon bolt on bits would come under the same regs as an over hanging load which is a max of 305mm either side (presumably from the widest part of the vehicle...wheel arches in your case) so you should be ok with a small spiral staircase :D

Easiest way is a pair of mole grip clamped onto the shoe just above the slave (In line with the shoe) the mole grips rest against the underside shoulder of the shoe and make levering in off (or on) so simple. It's difficult to describe but figure it out and you'll never try doing it another way.

Check the exciter wire is connected and has 12v+ in the start position

Addresses different issues. I never said anyone was turned away but it is a fact turnout dropped. It's estimated 3.5million people over 18 don't have photo ID in the UK. Some of them will apply for voter ID but many won't as we all know they are among the least likely to be motivated to vote...

How common voters THINK fraud is is about as far away from fact as you can get and wouldn't be included in any serious article.
