I go there in order to impede their progress. ;)
Everything I told them would happen is happening, the slope of the garden is going to dump all the water onto the new patio and so they will have to scalp the lawn area back down. :(
Sadly, youngsters are very reluctant to learn by heeding advice, they only believe it when they have made their mistakes.:)

Yes, but that is a new high power one which is fully charged - one of these 'gel' ones. The problem is not the power it seems to have gone wrong in the mechanism somehow. The front mechanism turns slowly as it grips the tyre to move it but the rear one is going much, much faster and not really gripping the tyre at all! If I try to move the van using just the front one engaged the whole van is slewing off to the side instead of going forwards or backwards as requested!!
After walking the dogs I will drive to the supplying dealer who I know will say 'we will do it in June/July if you bring it in'. Apart from the very long wait with me not being able to use it in the meantime, I cannot take it there 'cos I can't get it turned round to take it down my drive. This is the first time it has been used! I'm afraid it is a case of a dealer who is eager to sell but not so eager to offer an after-sale service. I am hoping they will be able to recommend a mobile servicing company who are prepared to come here.

mad thought.. do you have to engage these manually on to the tyres?
Our van we had to use a bar to engage.

can you chock the other wheel & use the motor to spin it?

Just caught me - dogs calling!
Yes, it uses the bar to manually engage each pair. I don't really understand your last bit - which wheel do you mean? If you mean the rear axle one on the opposite side then that is also spinning too fast like the other one.

Do you mean for me to forget the 'defunct' axle pair and chock the front wheel on the side opposite to the direction it is trying to slew in when I try to use just the front pair?
Apologies for my ignorance! I can make lace though! …… Not that that skill is any use in this instance.:rolleyes::rolleyes::)

... I have been "spending" (quizzical looks from SWMBO) I bought a tidy little tap & die holder set for my lathe (only £50). :)
One day I shall also learn to "thread" with the lathe. ;)

Can't your friend the farmer help? At least turn it round so you can use it again?

I was going to have a relaxing do nothing saturday today, but that went wrong first thing this morning. I noticed a pond forming in the garding border, right on the water meter. Got in touch with the water company and they sent somebody out to investigate, and I took a reading and spoke to the billing department. Seems that based on my average usage something like £718 worth of water has escaped. They accept responsibility for the problem and have credited me account accordingly. But I have had to severely cut back a leylandi which is overhanging the meter, so they can come tomorrow and put in a new box and meter. Bu66er :(

If that much worth of water has escaped then you are due about 2 to 3 times the same amount in sewage fees.
Larverly!;););):D:D:D

Afternoon folks:)
