    Britpart/ lynx- diagnostics

The only time I have had a diagnostics check on it's own they charged £30. If I have asked them to check something while doing other work there is no seperate charge only £45 per hour, mostly 1 hour work or less in total for what they have done. The most labour they charged was 2 hours to...

    Britpart/ lynx- diagnostics

I wish someone would, whereas the £300+ ones would be very handy at time I just could not justify the outlay for one .... but for £150 it would be a very tempting price. At the moment it is a 3 mile trip up the road to a good local indie (Durham 4x4) so not far to go but they are usually busy...

Bewares - Supercharged - Buying Advice

Only queries are: 1. The car has receipts/ stamps going back to 'only 2007'? .... Quite understandable ...... don't forget the 56 Reg means it was registered between Sept 2006 and Feb 2007 so the first service would, most likely, be in 2007. 2. When, exactly did the current owner buy...

    Brakes - which make?

Thanks for your thoughts on this, going to fit the Delphi discs and EBC pads and also replace the sliding pins and bolts (thanks SAS1810). For some reason the EBC pads have instilled confidence in their use from fitting them to the bike, stopping around 330kg of bike (plus rider, pillion and...

    Brakes - which make?

It is coming up to the time the front discs and pads were replaced, looking at the lip on the discs that are one at the moment. As I bought it last Sept I am, gradually, replacing parts on it, the EAS pump being the last bit replaced. Looking at Island4x4, it appears I have the choice of...

    That bl@@dy rubber thing

I am also a member of a couple of motorcycle sites and you learn very quickly to be able to take the p!$$ with others as well as having it taking with yourself. It's a lot better than sites that are purely technical help sites without the fun element. :)

    That bl@@dy rubber thing

Even though Wammers suggestion of 3" nails is tempting I think I will give the couple of spots of superglue a try, thanks for the suggestions.

    That bl@@dy rubber thing

.... you know the one .... the one that sidts on the dashboard, supposedly to stop items from sliding about if you place them on it ..... BUT all it seems to do is slide around itself if you take a corner or roundabout a bit quickly. Anyone got a solution to it please, I tried to use double...

    Steam Cleaning - Advice Please

Thanks for the advice, after a trawl of the internet/ yellow pages for anyone round about, I might give it a go myself using my dad's wallpaper steamer with lance attached. It is low pressure and small enough to be directed away from the electrics.

Tonight on Discovery Channel 21:00 hrs - an L322 on Wheeler Dealers

.... and if you have a look at "completed" listings you will see the seller has increased the price by £1000 from his last listing on it.

    Steam Cleaning - Advice Please

..... on a P38 diesel is this a big NO NO? Some old idiot, after topping up the oil, forgot to replace the oil cap last Thurday evening, meaning by the time I got to work it had spit around 2 litres of oil over one side of the engine and engine bay ...... and made a mess of the works car park...

The enlightenment of a stronger blow job!

..... tut tut, you lot, some of your minds need cleaning out....... of course I was on about the EAS compressor pump. ;) For a few weeks now I have been having intermittant EAS problems having to reset the faults. If on long runs it had been fine, but after shorter runs and a few changes of...

    Snow

We got some yesterday, then turned to ice affecting vehicles trying to get up the hills which backed up the traffic just in time for rush hour. Some routes through Durham were at a standstill or very slow for a couple of hours or more. A normal jouney home which would take 20 mins with no...

    engine disabled

A similar thing happened with mine (a DSE) on the first night after bringing it home from buying it in Yorkshire. Tried all sorts of things and in the end called Durham 4x4 who linked it up to his Autologic and found the BECM had lost all the settings from the ECU, etc. It was trying to say...

Why this forum is so active

Thanks for the answers lads, one took a bit longer than the rest to read, I thought I was reading a novel :D (only joking Tazz). It shows what it takes to make a good, well used forum, rather then a dull lifeless one, or one that just disintegrates into a load of abuse as one or two seems to...

Why this forum is so active

having just been on here for a couple of months or so, after buying a P38 DSE, one thing that is very obvious is the amount of visits and posts on here compared to some forums for other makes of 4x4, some of which seem dead for weeks or months at a time. Is this because it is so friendly on...

    Has anyone purchased a p38 key from - Www.alarmremotes.com?

Just down the road from me too. When I first got my P38, before having to change the BECM, I asked them about a fob for mine as it only came with one and that was knackered with the battery cover taped on. I asked them if their system worked with all the RR P38 fobs and they said it was...
