    Series 3 Viable daily driver.

Early pre defender 110's are actually a little cheaper than Series vehicles at the moment and come with better steering lock, power steering if you are lucky and a slightly better ride. They still leak though so you feel like you are driving a real Land Rover though.

    Series wheel types

When I put a Ford 2.8 into a SWB S3 I fitted the 3"wide drums from a Stage 1 V8. With decent rubber I could get it to actually do a "Stoppie" and lift the rear wheels a couple of foot in the air! Was rather painful when the rear came back down mind.

    Series 3 Viable daily driver.

Be warned a series 109 can be a right handful in a busy car park, or even parallel parking on the roadside. I have even found that I can't get out of a local Morrison's petrol station without doing a shunt which is fine as long as the merc sprinter behind you is not too close and ready for you...

After billing disaster, Some advice please!

Just one thought, you say that the engine seized, I can see why you would be thinking in that direction but I have had it when a starter refused to work whenever it got hot. The fact that it bump started when you tried just makes me wonder. Though I do notice you say the engine seized as you...

    Series wheel types

Oh ok, maybe just a two part wheel riveted together. Certainly any two part wheel needs an inner tube as it wont hold air. As far as the welded rims are concerned, the main issue with going from inner tubes to tubeless is the size of the hole for the valve. Tubed type have a much bigger hole...

Landrover defender td5 ‘the incredible bulk’

Wow you go some to do all that. Impressed! Was it not a bit hot for painting this weekend just gone?

    Series wheel types

Sounds like one of your wheels is an old fashioned split rim. Think the military used them at one stage. The idea being that you undo the bots holding the two halves of the wheel together and separate them making tyre changing a doddle. The reality I found was that they seem to get stuck...

    Cambelt change

I did that a few times on mates cars and my own when I was much younger and less cautious. None of the vehicles ever seemed to have an issue, but I always thought it was a bit of a bodge and when I grew up I would do it properly! Grown up a bit now but never had a Timing belt to do, however time...

Spike in old land rover prices

It seemed to me that prices went daft after they stopped making the Defender, are you noticing an extra spike right now? I monitored prices from Mid 2017 until now and they seemed to me to be consistently high. You can still get a cheap Disco though the D1's are getting rarer and a good one is...

    Hi Folks :)

That was pretty much my reason for buying it. I guess in a few years I will be used to it and all the jobs that you do on them!

    Hi Folks :)

The 90 is my first foray into "modern" stuff (Even though it is 30 years old), I do sometimes think about selling it and going back to series stuff that I know so well!
