RRC 3.5 Efi Auto MOT fail

Got a mate selling his MOT fail spares or repairs RRC 3.5 Efi auto. LPG with underslung tanks, 100k milesish, needs some work to get it going. LPG recently serviced with new parts. That's all I know at the moment. He's looking for around £350-£400 for the whole thing but may break. Let me know...

Info on weekly - important engine bay checks!

I use Halfords 'advanced' antifreeze in mine. It's pink and like Kenny said only needs changing every 5 years instead of 2. Bit more expensive but worth it.

    classic rr problem

Lie underneath and watch the radius arm bushes while someone rocks the car. You might even be able to hear a clunk. A bolt was rusted in on mine and knackered the bush.

    classic rr problem

Could be the radius arm bushes/bolts, they can work slightly loose and cause a clunk. Try tightening those and see what happens. Probably worth putting new bushes and bolts in. Cheap and easy job.

    Kangarooing & Stalling!

Have you tried cleaning/relocating the earth straps? Or the replacing amplifier on the distributor? I had terrible trouble with mine (1989) when I first got it. The sledge hammer does look bloody tempting when it does that :D

    Body lift!!

Hi mate, this bloke bought one with a body lift already done. My new 1988 range rover vogue SE 3.5 V8 - LR4x4 - The Land Rover Forum All looks a bit dodgy to me. Also, the rear bumper is fixed to the chassis so it gets left behind. Can't say I'd do it myself mate but it depends what you're...

LPG + ROAD TAX 4x4 issues

Yeah, what about all the huge buses I see, doing about 5 gallons to the mile, with about 3 people on them?????????? I bet they're environmentalists sitting on there, thinking they're saving the planet. Anyway, don't cows arseholes produce more greenhouse gases than all transport put together?

LPG + ROAD TAX 4x4 issues

My fookin tax increased between me receiving the bill and going to the fookin post office to pay it! I'd love to issue bills like that, send a bill for £50 and when the poor fooker comes to pay, charge em £70. But that's ok cos they're the government and they can do what they like. So long...

    RRC Electric Sunroof sticking

Cheers Fred. That's exactly what mine's doing. Seal's gone pretty stiff and dirty. Reckon a good clean and lube'll do the trick. What's on the inside of your roof panel? Bloke who had the car before me had a new headlining fitted and the bit on the inside of the sunroof panel sags a bit, looks a...

    RRC Electric Sunroof sticking

Well, the latest bit of british leyland magic on my RR to go on strike is the sunroof. I have a 1989 3.5 Efi with electric metal sunroof. It tips up at the back, in the sort of vent position, but it wont go back into the roof to fully open. I looked on top while pressing the button and the back...

I've got a drivers window regulator if you're interested?! I assume you're talking about a classic with electric windows?!

    Classic rear suspension

That's your Boge self-levelling strut. Does what it says on the tin when you've got the rear under load. Lots of people take them off and forget about them, certainly not essential. I took mine off the other week and replaced all the ball joints and bushes in the area. Mine was fine so i gave...

    road tax!

I got my bill through the post from those thieving fookers. £99 begining of march and by the time we paid it end of march it had gone up to £101.79 (for 6 months). If i remember rightly when I bought the beast in 2006 and taxed her it was around £85. That's one hell of an increase and if I see...

    Poor running 3.5 V8 EFi

My 3.5 Efi was cutting out when I put my foot down a few months ago. Turned out to be dodgy earth leads, one to the battery and the one inner wing to engine. Cleaned mine up and re located the one on the wing to a nice clean bit of metal. Also found that under all the grime the one on the wing...

Classic LPG conversion - is it worth it ?

I had my 1989 3.5 EFi converted, well worth it. I do use mine everyday though so that made it even more worth it, like goonarmy said. Definitely more worth it if it's running well. If you're keeping the car and you're looking after it, may as well do it to save while you drive. Conversion will...

Range Rover Classic Seat and Carpet Refurb - Suggestions

Don't Rimmers do seat refurb kits? Though I expect they'll be bloody expensive.
