Our local powder coating place (in Hereford) said that following powder coating, they would need to send the wheels off to have the rim diamond etched to achieve the correct finish. The process would double the cost, at least. Another refurb place here just paints the wheels which obviously...

Check your ignition amp as well. I had the same problem and after much faffing we swapped the ignition amp and she fired straight away. I have since upgraded to hotwire which is so much better. Good luck.

Have you gone on to Google and simply typed "LPG specialists Ipswich"? It seems you have a wealth of LPG service and installation specialists in your area...

Also, before diving in and tearing stuff down, have you pulled the spark plugs for a look? See if any of them have been steam cleaned? Worth a check as It's simple and easy... Good luck with it.

I didn't buy the kit like that but I've had a coil and a new distributor off simonbbc for my '89 RR 3.5 Efi. No problem at all with either of them. Like you, I bought them so I knew they were new and reliable and could be eliminated when diagnosing problems.

I lightly filed the sharp leading edge of of each ring to stop the initial binding, then pushed them home with a g clamp and a piece of wood. The key is being able to apply the force across the whole ring (hence the wood), so it doesn't bend. Very satisfying and reassuring as they pop home...

I just thought as an option worth checking it could have a bit of crud in it? Being a reducing valve I assume if there is any crud in the system it would particularly trap at that pinch point? It's just the way the OP said the pedal goes hard half way down then releases? Worth checking anyway in...

My '89 RRC had the washer type seals, as previously stated on the inlet valves only. I can confirm that they were/are ****e and a waste of time and rubber. I got a later set of heads when I rebuilt the engine purely for the later valve seals. This proved much cheaper than having my old heads...
