I saw once, but can't find it anywhere, a diagram with the overall dimensions of the rover v8 cylinder head. I think it was in one of the 'how much can my heads be skimmed' threads. I also think it was an official LR diagram so head measurements could be checked against it to establish how much, if any, they've been skimmed in the past.

So...... don't suppose anyone can put their hands on such a diagram, and better still post it here, or at least a link? Hope someone can help. Cheers.

4. Check cylinder head height at each end of
cylinder head:
A= 22.94 mm (0.903 in) - New
B= 62.56 mm (2.463 in) - New
5. Cylinder heads may be refaced:
Reface limit = 0.50 mm (0.02 in) from new
dimension
See RAVE Overhaul manuals, 4.0 and 4.6 engines, Description and operation page six for pictorial views that accompany the posted text.

Right, so next question, I've measured my heads (14 bolt, earlier type) and they're about 0.5mm thicker than the LR specs given in Rave (in the link). Is that because the later spec heads were that much less for the comp head gaskets? If so, as I'm fitting comp gaskets, should I get my heads skimmed down to that spec, i.e. have 0.5mm taken off?
