    There's every chance that the window regulator (lifter mechanism) has gone. Paddocks supply them for about £25. Easy enough job to do, just make sure you have some good duct tape to hold the glass up, while you are working. Dave

    Does this sound like a fuel lift pump issue ?

    All the ones I've done on TDi 200 and 300 had 2 metal pipes going to the pump for flow return. Just had another look and I can't see the other connection. ???? Anyway, maybe it's just the picture, so something (pipe, rubber or metal) appears to have come off that inlet, so you need to find it.

    I would NEVER re-use oils. Bear in mind all you need is very std. EP80w-90 for diffs and tranny box plus MTF or Dexron atf; all of which will be readily available.
