Had this problem since getting the Disco in Aug.

The drivers window will go down alright but when it is coming back up, the back goes higher than the front and it jams. The only way to get it up in to pull the front back level and hold it almost all the way up. (It has trapped my fingers a few times.

Any ideas what it could be?

Is it sticking in the track on the door frame, give them a spray with silicone slip, if not you need the door card off and inspect the system

I would take the door card off and check the regulator .. cheap and easy to replace if its broken.

The other thing could be the strip thats bonded on to the window that bolts on to the regulator could be broken,
Mine was and had to buy another window with a intact strip and swap it over.

Broken regulator, the motor is so powerful that it will overcome any sticking in the tracks.

There's every chance that the window regulator (lifter mechanism) has gone. Paddocks supply them for about £25.

Easy enough job to do, just make sure you have some good duct tape to hold the glass up, while you are working.

Would that be the cause of the window not riasing level?

Had it in my MG ZR and it cost £200 to repair.

If it helps with my leg against the door card i can feel it 'bulging' when the window gets stuck

I wouldnt keep trying to use it now.
Just get the card off and replace the regulator (asuming thats whats gone)
Continuing to use it is putting pressure on the motor/door skin (the bulging), window frame/ strip on the glass ect

Cheers guys.
I do use the window a fair bit. The moment i get in it is dropped down about 2inch. And left like that until i get back out.
