    SRS light

Hi, SRS light has decided of its own free will to remain on, tried the usual things of connection under seat and disconnecting battery and reconnecting yet still it refuses to sleep. Anyone close to Herts, Beds, Bucks border got some new fangled gizmo they could plug in and tell me what's up...

What do you think? Should I rebuild this 300tdi

Also consider you'll be starting with a nice new head gaskit

    Freelander 1 classifying the freelander

There may be many reasons why they are not used for that, cost alone and durability. Read my original comment and you will see I note that independent suspension is better in theory but like the Africar is not yet fully realised

    Freelander 1 classifying the freelander

Again, that is a function of suspension travel, you don't see the problem arising with the 4 wheel drive 2cvs, why? Because they have plenty of suspension travel

Not so, on a 2 cv chassis.

    Freelander 1 classifying the freelander

Fair point but then that is a suspension travel issue and not really a direct factor of independent suspension. We could imagine an independent suspension with a huge amount of . 2CV for example and I seem to remember someone built a 4 wheel drive 2cv that performed admirably off road

This I don't understand, independent suspension is surely less likely to cause a wheel to lift off the ground. I would suggest that it is rather suspension travel and suppleness that the factors at work here

    Freelander 1 classifying the freelander

Providing drive to the wheels is not the only factor, suspension travel and suppleness, tyres, wheel size, wheel box size, attack, departure and break-over angles are also factors. Independent suspension is in theory better for off-road (And on road) but so much for the Africar.

What have you done to your Landie today.

CV joint went so checked swivel pre-load, Panhard rod bushes had gone through MOT but detected play and changed to superpro bushes and that cured it. Still need to change drop arm and drag link ball joints and maybe tighten up steering box but up to 70mph ok

    Bleeding 12j 2.5 NA Diesel

One problem is if too much is sprayed in then it can cause hydraulic locking or by passing the rings it can strip layer of oil from them promoting rapid ring wear, some easystart products contain a lubricant to mitigate this effect. Used correctly, with only a small amount sprayed in on rare...

I have 18" Alloys they needed no adaptor, they were boost style and sold on Ebay. Bought 5 of them 7 years ago c/w tyres and nuts for £500 but I see that now the wheels alone cost £500

Grease prop shaft if it's got nipples, oil and filter change regularly, fluid levels, electrickery, etc. 2. Buzweld products are good, I'm told 3. Bet mods are personal to the use you...

    TD5 with Series doors

Best solution is to find some secondhand series doors, throw away the tops and replace with Rocky Mountain tops. Make sure you use burst proof door catches though
