    ENGINE MALFUCTION LIGHT!! AHHHHHHHHHH

Never used on a land rover (have a series), but I bought a blue tooth engine management plug in thing and downloaded a reader app to my phone, the whole lot cost me less than £15 and I've read and reset codes on a VW Amorok, SAAB 93, Vauxhall zafira, honda crv, with no problems. Really useful as...

    P38 Air suspension

I used to have a P38 and got a lead and disc so I could look at and repair my suspension, they don't cost a fortune, might even still have mine somewhere. my issue turned out to be one of the sensors was broken, but until I took it off you couldn't tell as it fitted together perfectly when...

What is the best Land Rover to be built

Range rover classic with 300 TDI engine was the best land rover I ever had, did virtually nothing to it in the 8 years I had it. Greatest car EVER.

    Other Tools

Interesting (to me anyway) fact about the P38 V8 with automatic gear box. We had one a few years ago (lots of issues) but the main one that lead to it's sale was very odd. At it's last MOT I mistakenly asked the local garage to do a full service as I was short of time. A few days later we...

Using a multimeter on a vehicle electrical system

I know all this as I've been using these for years, but I love things like this that re-enforce that I am in fact doing it correctly, as I bought one of these and by guessing and trial and error and the odd bit of internet help have sort of figured it out. I really wish I had had something like...

Advice on buying a Series 3

If you haven't got space then leave it, as you'll need lots of room to put all the bits that need fixing as well as the car, mine sits at the back of the drive out the way of everyone, would be better in a garage, but you can't have everything.

Advice on buying a Series 3

My experience of owning series 2's, is avoid having them as a car you need use of as most jobs take longer than you think they will. If you have the room and can have it sitting there while you tinker then why not, you can always sell it on if it doesn't work out..

    Other Tools

I "lost" a really decent mig welder, Hd Ramps, work lights and a whole myriad of tools. When I moved I lent them to a really good friend as I didn't have room at the time, but now I do, he doesn't speak to me or return any of my messages. BUT to be honest it's my friend that I miss not my tools.

    Cambelt change

I've just done one, (using the timing marks) on a 200 DI, never done one before and took my "time" with it, main one, was half the bolts were rounded from whoever did it before, so ordered a new set from Stig Fasteners they were all fine except one that I had to use 4 washers to pack out...

Yes another d2 air suspension thread

Not the same car but had a similar problem with P38, Air suspension would just randomly drop, no air leaks, and the compressor was fine, I bought the lead and software and it would reset correctly straight away. I measured all the sides and everything was fine, but it still kept randomly...

200 TDI / DI how to tell if it's from a defender or discovery/rangerover

The Crank pulley bolt, but borrowed a torque wrench and did it last night (in the amongst the thousands of midges and drizzle) , so just got to put everything back that I took off to get at it now. This could be the longest timing belt change in history, the book says about 4hrs :)
