Have a look at the big fuses under the bonnet. I think they are the same for the td5.

glad it's fixed! it's all you don't need at this time of year! before anyone starts to fiddle with the wiring, it's definitely worth checking the fuses, bulbs, light switch, pink relay and as a last resort, the indicator/horn/dip stalk. then you can get onto earths and the like!

do you have a small fuse box under the bonnet? if yes, check one of the big blue ones! or, pink relay behind dash binnacle

Sometimes, it might be worth replacing the straps if they are looking a bit knacked!

Check the other earth strap as well from the alternator/PAS pump bracket to chassis part of left engine mount. I nicked these pics from another site for my use when I had similar issues!
