My 1990 90 had a 300tdi conversion, so the piping and air intake isn't standard.

Can anybody show me a photo / explain how the cylindrical air filter is hooked up? I know there is a large hose that goes into the back of it to the turbo, but the diagrams show various T junctions on the intake side and I don't know where they are supposed to go. I'm missing all the intake hoses

If I am going to hook it up to a snorkel, do I just route the intake directly to this?

Maybe a few photos of a 300tdi engine bay would help? I did try google images but never got very far.

On mine, the snorkel connects to the hose 6 on your pic above. I've added a few pics which I hope might help!

Thanks for the photos.

So if its a water trap, should it be sealed up to avoid water being sooked in? Or perhaps I don't need it?

If I don't have any of that pipe work, I assume I can just get rubber ducting and hook up the intake to my snorkel?

Ok, so I have checked the snorkel and as I expected, it just sits on the outside of the wing, so I think I need the following:
Upper and lower duct (part 2 and 3 from diagram below) from the wing, then parts 6,7 and 10 as shown above. Is that right?

Looking up part numbers, it's REALLY expensive for the hoses. Can I just use normal hoses? What about this part 10?
