    Auto gearbox sump removal.

Hi all, just started to pull parts off to replace gearbox 2-4 brake solenoid on Jatco auto td4. I don't have a workshop manual and interweb stuff covers.. servicing, solenoid fixes and resistance testing but nothing about sump removal. I have removed intercooler pipe, egr valve pipe, undertray...

Freelander 1 rear passenger window glass.

I have sorted it, no rubber seat as you would expect, none on the Youtube vlogs. Regulator all the way to the bottom, glass drops down to it and then rests on a thin ledge on the bracket... got lucky with first bolt I found on barn floor.. short M8 did the trick, jobs a good'n! Tomorrow I will...

Freelander 1 rear passenger window glass.

I will probably end up taking the other side door panel off and have a look at that regulator? Definitely screws in but what, how and where!?

Freelander 1 rear passenger window glass.

It does have thread on the window bracket/white bit but can't see how you can get to it and the regulator bracket with the glass in situ? I have teased the glass in by getting passed the rubber guide and door skin and then bringing back up into the guide. Had a good hunt in the car for any bolts...

Freelander 1 rear passenger window glass.

Hi all, previous owner broke the window trying to replace the window regulator. Car came with a replacement regulator and I have picked up another window. In the process of fitting the window, done loads in the past but this one is a little tight and unlike other cars the glass doesn't sit in a...

Freelander 1 facelift auto gearbox gasket???

Yep, does seem like working in reverse to go straight into gearbox without checking the easy stuff first. I have found with LR and pretty much any vehicle.. nothing is ever straight forward. The biggest issue with LR is that you're at the mercy of the peeps who tried fixing stuff before you! I...

Freelander 1 facelift auto gearbox gasket???

Going to chuck some time at it tomorrow, I'm used to working under a gearbox, this will be the first time going in from the side. I see what they mean about the FL being a poor design to work on. I might service the box while I am there, full service in a week or two. Biggest pain is no seat...

Freelander 1 facelift auto gearbox gasket???

Thanks Hippo, I contacted my local shop, famous four, who confirmed no gasket listed. The previous owner was an armchair DIYer, a few corrective jobs to do on the project so I wouldn't expect that he has been in the gearbox, I know the tell on my L322 were the number of cross threaded bolts on...

Freelander 1 facelift auto gearbox gasket???

Thanks for some knowledge. I have done flushes and solenoid changes on my other Land Rovers, the freelander seems straightforward enough... will go with sealer. Its the solenoid with a winged bracket, think there are two and it is the top one right lower corner. Going to have a go at repairing...

Freelander 1 facelift auto gearbox gasket???

Hi all, usually on the L322 and P38 forums but took the plunge with a Freelander project. Usual stuff... 2/4 brake solenoid etc.. etc.. Have done solenoids and gearbox work on other LR but obviously the Jatco box is slightly different. I don't have a manual for the car yet, can someone tell me...

No.. No.. No.. what have I done,I went and bought a Freelander td4!

I just couldn't help myself... Now the owner of a facelift low mileage td4 auto to join the garage next to my P38 and L322. I think I have series sickness? Since the prices on Series Land Rovers have gone silly... straight after I sold my fleet for peanuts, I have been buying up later...

    P38 2.5 Aircon belt

Just about to stick a belt on the aircon pump to crank pulley on the project P38 for "****s and giggles". There isn't a belt on at the moment and the idler is tight up against the aircon pump pulley as you would expect without tension.... only issue I have is that it looks like the A/C pump and...

Only the one tumble dryer! We have a barn dance every few years... good excuse to hire a skip! P38A 2.5 Diesel - What Head Gasket

The hot start chip just mimics a cold start, I think it interrupts the ignition system and fools the ecu, some chips are more reliable than others, you'll see the coil light come on and it sticks extra fuel through the injectors, so the car idles high before dropping back to a warm idle. The hot...

    Engine conversions

Helps to buy one that isn't too broken to start with... always costly fixing other peoples breakdowns! Maintenance is more costly than your average car because you have bigger capacities to fill. If you have spent £1500+ and it's still not fixed then either your trying to fix stuff using the...
