Hi all, previous owner broke the window trying to replace the window regulator. Car came with a replacement regulator and I have picked up another window. In the process of fitting the window, done loads in the past but this one is a little tight and unlike other cars the glass doesn't sit in a bracket on the regulator.... Does anyone have any tips? I have removed the internal weather strip to get more room but I am worried about a repeat of broken glass. I also can't see how the glass fits to the regulator.... glass has a white bracket and regulator just has a plate with two oblong holes?

Is there a captive nut on the plastic? Can't remember how it fixes.
I'm sure it does bolt through one of the holes on the regulator to the window.
Maybe try you tube videos to see how fixed or have a look at the other side window.

It does have thread on the window bracket/white bit but can't see how you can get to it and the regulator bracket with the glass in situ? I have teased the glass in by getting passed the rubber guide and door skin and then bringing back up into the guide. Had a good hunt in the car for any bolts to match the thread and can't find anything, chap must have thrown it out with the old regulator? I have looked on Youtube but the only one that covers rear windows has twenty minutes of looking at his back, so pretty useless. The front doors have loads of access. Had a look on fleebay and all the windows and regulators are the same as mine and show no way of attaching, why are there two oval holes?

I will probably end up taking the other side door panel off and have a look at that regulator? Definitely screws in but what, how and where!?

On your regulator there should be a flat plate for a bolt to attach to. For the window bottom there is meant to have plastic pincher with rubber to grip the window. This is bolted to the regulator. Make sure the regulator works going up and down in the door okay. If you have the pincher drop the regulator plate to the bottom first then the glass can slide down to the bottom so can fit the two together.

Best to tape the glass to the frame first so it cane be dropped later.

As above.
You could always just look window on the other side, so you can see how it all goes together correctly. ;)

I have sorted it, no rubber seat as you would expect, none on the Youtube vlogs. Regulator all the way to the bottom, glass drops down to it and then rests on a thin ledge on the bracket... got lucky with first bolt I found on barn floor.. short M8 did the trick, jobs a good'n! Tomorrow I will take gearbox out and recondition it, much easier!
