What did you do with your Range Rover today

Yea, it looks like there's not much choice these days so I'll be going for a Britpart from Island. I'm just checking that I get the O rings with it, or the pipes, before I order.

Stuck in low, not the usual fix

+1 or is that the box off the scrapper? Which begs the question. Is that the scrapper in your avatar or . . . ?

    Gearbox oil cooler

Gentlemen, thank you for all of your comments. A Britpart cooler it is and, looking at the cost, a set of Britpart pipes to go with it.

    Gearbox oil cooler

It's not the price of the Britpart one - it's just that it's Britpart! There's a re-built gearbox on the other end of the pipes - but £300  As you say it's got no moving parts and I suppose I could pressure test it before fitting. In these days when you honestly don't know which factory...

    Gearbox oil cooler

2000 DSE automatic I want to change my weeping gearbox cooler pipes and would like to go the whole way and replace the cooler. However I've checked all the usual suppliers and only Island show a make - and that's Britpart  I know that I can get the pipes made up so that's not an issue but...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

O.K. it was yesterday but I picked up a new MOT. Only advisories were a slight weep from a fairly new, metal impeller, water pump and a mention that the gearbox cooler pipes are weeping. Well if that's all that he can find I'm a happy man. Now for a thread on where can I find a decent gearbox...

    Help! Knocking noise

A quick visit to the 'introduce yourself' section followed by putting your problem into the 'Defender' section might get you a better response.

Oh no. What have I done?

A P38? Why am I not surprised. I saw her face (and heard her squeals) when she was in mine at LZ11. :D

Newbie First Time Buyer Questions : Coolant

A static pressure tester is simply a replacement cap with a pump. You pump up some air pressure into the system and see if it holds. If the pressure drops it's escaping somewhere. Then all you've got to do is find the leak. If there's no obvious leak then you suspect that it's inside the...

flat battery / wont unlock ???

This was on RangeRover.net a while back. He got into a side marker light "a circular orange light on the fender", fed power in through the cabling to the light and got the car to respond to the key.

TD5 abs cutting in over 60mph

I remember seeing cars with stickers on the back warning that they had these new fangled disc brakes fitted so the rest of us with our cable operated all round drums had better stay a bit further back.

    A bar

Sorry, if you're a whippersnapper, meccano was metal strips with holes punched at regular intervals. :D

    A bar

The one I took off mine had a couple of strips like meccano that fitted onto the slam panel bolts. Are there any signs of anything missing from the back of the top of yours?

    roof bars for P38

if you mean the original ones that fit into the roof, you'll have to be very lucky to find a decent second hand set for less than about £150 / £200. Don't know if you can get an aftermarket set that fits the sockets.

    locking wheel nuts

If they're the original ones you can buy a new key, they're lettered. or - You can buy a generic removal tool, not too expensive. or - most tyre fitters carry a set of removal tools or - you can just smash a slightly smaller socket on or - you could weld a nut on them and get them off with a socket
