    Defender Automatic

Its an easy enough conversion , if you have a 200 or 300 tdi just get relevant box and torque converter , from discovery . If other model then get whole drivetrain , you need to change rear diff drive flange on 300tdi rear axle to get disc brake back axle . If later 300tdi discovery drive...

Autos don't have DMF they have a torque converter , also dont have swirl flaps in a TD4 . The jatco box is very durable. Best of the freelanders , have had several

6-Wheel Drive Discovery II - Am I totally mad ?

Re axle lift , as my forum name suggests have some experience with 6 wheel rovers , I found even with low mileage usage (Tacr2a Rangerover) as not a shopping sort of vehicle , as you alluded to, tyre wear is considerable . I also have experience of HGV with lift axles and resultant changes to...

    Servo Assisting the Clutch - 300Tdi / R380.

Bundy pipe length is irrelevant , but for ease of bleeding etc its best to avoid "U" bends continual rise type layout is the ideal . I fitted several remote servos to L/crsrs in OZ , used the mini/MG as others( redboost ) wasnt available at that time . Never found the need to fit a...

    Not convinced on fan

If the rad is in good condition , most of the year, and depending on what you are doing , you dont need a fan at all. Once you are traveling at speed :) the fan isnt really doing anything as the airflow is forcing the air thru rad . If its hot and you are say climbing a hill slowly...

Need air condition kit for my 300TDi

Depending what set up you get , earlier (carp!) or later one (not too bad) its a heck of a lot of work to fit and the later one loses passenger footwell space . It would be easier and more effective to go new after market have a look in Red Dot online catalogue It will (should have ) barely...

110 defender rebuild project and v8 conversion

I ran 3.9i in my 110 csw in Australia with HD V8 rad (oe ) and just put a 13 row mocal in front of rad far forward so just behind grill . It handled 45C+ in soft sand climbing dunes without any problem . Aircon rads in front of rad is biggest o/heat cause in those sort of conditions , thats...

110 defender rebuild project and v8 conversion

make sure you mount external fuel pump or filter via rubber , they make a right din if hard bolted . Its much quieter in a V8 than a diesel :) Re oil cooler if you take up rad space and have to make rad smaller to get oil cooler in a bit of a pointless pursuit . JMHO
