    stearing guard

hi Jim, i bit the bullet and got a 3 piece ally one for 85 quid, cant remember where from. probably worth the extra if you can, several mates got thin steel ones and not so great for protection, hit stumps and stuff and guards completely buckled. took me literally 10 mins to fit mine, had to get...

Umm... That's the whole point it's unscrewable (you can unscrew it)!! As apposed to an inscrewable lid (one which won't undo) - but yeh, big hammer works too!

anybody else have a landy that hates them ?

mine is not too keen on any electrical tampering, played with the radio to try and get it to come on with the ignition, easy if you know which wire to connect (i didnt), got it working for a bit then it gave up, took it all to bits (how it was) and left it, and then found that my left headlight...

My first 90 Photos and Respray ?

yep i would have to agree, dont waste money on paint untill yer rust and other bits are sorted, otherwise you will be painting it again! (my mate did a very cheap brush paint job on a nato landy, looks crap up close but you wouldn't tell from 10 metres - feckin perfect for laning)

    Wide-angle Propshaft's

"Double Kardon shafts" being double jointed at either end? getting me gear and tranny box redone in Christmas so not too bothered. i just put me wide angle shaft on the front seems to solve some of the problem just waiting for the rear. putting the arms on actually made it vibrate less...

    Wide-angle Propshaft's

no definitely not the wheels, spent a fortune getting them balanced cos thats what i thought it was at first. definitely coming from the props/transfer box area. i'm pretty sure it would be the props as Trew. 90 said.

    Wide-angle Propshaft's

 ahh but you cant get 35" bfg's in there without! (i know they probably aren't any better off road etc.. but they look f**king good - in my opinion) yeh i did think about the extra vibration but i thought i rather have better steering its sooooo bad. why is it that it will be 5/6mm off...

    Wide-angle Propshaft's

    Tyres

yeh tubless tyres with tubes is a bloddy pain in my experience. about a puncture every month with 80% road use because of it. thats with 265/75/16 bfg mt's on the original steel rims your on about.

    Wide-angle Propshaft's

Hi all. just got me big bfg's and 2" lift. some problems - steering very twitchy and dodgey but got my cast correcting radius arms (3 degrees) and fitting tomorrow so that should solve that? (is there any point getting corrected trailing arms aswell?) vibrations (only when...

    Suspension fitting argument!

Hi all, looked for info, with no avail. CAN YOU FIT A 2" LIFT KIT WITHOUT SPRING COMPRESSORS? i want to put a lift kit on to upgrade it from standard (new springs and shocks) my local landy man says that it is a difficult job and that you need to have a good set of compressors and it could...

What have you done on your Defender today?

played arround with fusebox resulting with more problems then i started with, corvered the rubber gearbox tunnel mats with some nice new carpet, ordered a new gaiter, fitted a fatter wire to mi work lights to get more out of them. then sat confused and annoyed the electronics are not how haynes...

    Stupid tyres

ha, yeh the 35's on the mates poke out miles, gets it nice and muddy! we got stopped by the plod whilst greenlaning, they had a good look at the cars but nothing about tyres hanging out on his. is it illegal or not? yeh steering stops not a problem, i guess.

    Stupid tyres

hi, sorry another tyre post but have searched and no luck. anyone know if you can get 33/12.5/15 bfg mt's on a 90 with nothing other than a 50mm lift kit? i'm pretty sure a mate has a set of 35's on his ex mod with just the lift, and they seem fine, just want to make sure the mod landys...
