decided to do a quick job on 110 today, heater fan stopped working a while ago and finally decided to swap it out. nice simple 10min job strip off column shroud, streering wheel, took off dash and eased it forward enough to get to switch. swaped in the new one quick enough, but when i went to start it bugger all happened! everything else worked except it wouldnt kick in the starter.
anyway after the 10 minute job turned in to a 2 hour job with much swearing and pokeing about checking the spagetti behind the dash i finally thought bugger it im gonna fit a switch direct in line with starter cant be arsed with poking about. that went smooth and worked a treat , now got a swanky push button starter :)
went in to mates house for a brew and natter, climed into landy turned the key and the bloody thing decided to work again!!!!

so all is well again with the fickle cow. just thought id share my misery :)

that said the fecking thing seem to bite me
 
mine is not too keen on any electrical tampering, played with the radio to try and get it to come on with the ignition, easy if you know which wire to connect (i didnt), got it working for a bit then it gave up, took it all to bits (how it was) and left it, and then found that my left headlight only works on full beam?! thats in the wet, if its dry the left headlight only works dip beam and right only full beam - never both, and then in the dark on a saturday night she gives me two working lights!!!!!! - but only dip beam, just one right on full!

dont know - dont care - dont drive in the dark!! (if i can help it!)

hate is not half the story..
 
aye thats true, wouldnt sell her for the world. mind you with the amount of parts iv bought for her id never get it back :)
but im having a case of another day another problem! looks like the injector pump timing is out now! oh well what else is sunday for.
 
I sometimes think if immortality was a given we'd have to be spannering away on our lannies for 35 years solid before we attain 'the knowledge' for mastering the ways of defenders!
 
Today hasn't been a good day for my csw v8 as I predicted the hgf is minor into the valley gasket-unfortunately the hg has eaten into block badly.

So it looks like strip and deck the block ffs
 
land rovers are far to much like women, cost a bloody fortune to keep, drive us mental, and throw the toys out the cot for no apparent reason. but we put up with them all the same :)
at least your landy doesnt ask you what your thinking all the fecking time :)
 
would'nt say i hate um but at times i need to get away from um (just like the doris )
today me front diff gave up the ghost :mad: just as well i took out extended warranty :rolleyes:
missing her already (the doris is'nt) :D
