    P38 2.5 hot start exhaust

There is about 8" of Flexi, part of the down pipe. (Mines an auto) think that makes the difference. I think you are right, go for that first, get the obvious out the way.

    P38 2.5 hot start exhaust

I know there is a lot about crappy fuel pumps. Mine was starting fine when hot until she sprang a leak in an injector pipe, repaired and now hot starts like every old crappy pump. Also new and increasing hole in exhaust flexi. Related?

P38 wont start when hot SORTED

Sorry meant to add that hot start isn't good. Fine if started within 30 seconds of ignition off. Any longer and it cranks for ages and starts with a dab of throttle.

P38 wont start when hot SORTED

Right, new glow plugs in. No difference sadly, I know the glow plugs are working as I tested them. So therefore I beleieve the relay is working too. I'm thinking injection pump timing? Anyone agree?

P38 wont start when hot SORTED

Is there such thing as a cold start fix unit? My diesel runs and starts fine when hot, but has serious fueling (I suspect) issues when cold started. Runs like a single cylinder lister traction engine.

P38 Diesel Engines. Identification and Specifications

Hi all. Have a 2001 P38 with Diesel BMW engine. I was told it's not the original engine. And it has an ally manifold so that would explain that. Anyway that's gone bang, head pressure tested and failed. So I want to know if they would have modified it to get the older style engine in? And...

2005 range rover, thinking of buying

Looking at various 2004, 2005, 2006. Range rovers around the £6/7k mark. This obviously isn't much to spend on a rangie, looking for close to 100,000 miles. What kind of things do you need to look for? Or in reality are there no end of problems?
