I know there is a lot about crappy fuel pumps. Mine was starting fine when hot until she sprang a leak in an injector pipe, repaired and now hot starts like every old crappy pump. Also new and increasing hole in exhaust flexi. Related?

Exhaust flexi?

I tend to fix the obvious (and cheapest) things before looking for big ones.

There is about 8" of Flexi, part of the down pipe. (Mines an auto) think that makes the difference.

I think you are right, go for that first, get the obvious out the way.

I cannot see how an hole in the flexi is effecting starting. As a matter of fact i am willing to say it isn't.

Just fixed my downpipe flexi (diesel) broken through, but had no effect on starting. Not so fussy as petrols.
