SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Hi guys, I now have a couple of these boards ready to go. They are fully working, but as the kits are quite new, I'd not be surprised if there were the odd teething problems (likely 'wire not long enough', 'instructions not clear'). If anyone who considers themselves fairly competent at such...

By ball joints, do you mean the top and bottom swivels?

TD5 - ABS, TC and HD lights

I'll forgive people quite happily for resetting fault lights and see if they come back on. But actually splicing into looms, removing fuses. That's deceitful/dishonest. (Spoken as someone who bought a car that chimed without warning lights, turned out the ACE LED had been ripped off the...

TD5 - ABS, TC and HD lights

I do actually make an effort to find out what's wrong with my car when warning lights are on, and make a decision as to whether it is safe to continue to drive it *once that's known*. You've gone out of your way to hide a fault which might or might not be safety critical, so it will get an MOT...

TD5 - ABS, TC and HD lights

It will fail anyway because the lights have to illuminate on key turn and THEN extinguish. Just find and fix the bloody fault and stop trying to deceive the MOT tester.

    Rust and checkered metal

Checkerplate is almost certainly aluminium. Welding this to steel will not work. Some people seem to get away with riveting, but personally, I wouldn't... David

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

I've got a couple finished, but it has to pass one final test. My fiancee has to successfully fit it, following the kit instructions. If it passes that test, it's good to go ;-)

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Will do guys, thanks for the interest and encouragement :-) FWIW I rang my land rover dealer up here and was quoted £120 for the remote and £80 for programming ;-)

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

The other thing that might explain that is that the frequency is wrong I think. For UK it should be 433MHz

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Those links seem to suggest that that part is either out of stock or discontinued. To be fair, I haven't a clue of the RRP of the plip. I will give the dealer a call tomorrow and find out for comparison. Don't forget the OEM plip would need programming, so if you didn't have nano com etc you'd...

    TD5 Trailing Arm Bushes

If trailing and radius arms are synonymous, I am surprised everything is the same, as the disco2 ones have three holes and bushes whereas the disco 1 ones are quite different from what I have seen... I went for polybushes for mine so they'd be easy to fit but wasn't pleased that the arm to...

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Won't be long, guys! Just final details and then I will have them ready for sale. I am not hoping to get rich from these things but I do have to etch the PCBs, drill and assemble. What kind of price would people pay for the whole thing, no soldering etc required, and including the switch and...

SLS raise/lower remote - faking it?

Just working on polishing the design for production :-) It is going to use surface mount stuff and I expect to provide it as a board with all the cables attached so it can be fitted plug and play, using a scotch lock connector or similar to splice into the bcu loom, so no soldering needed! I...

    ding ding ding ding ding......

Oh, sorry, just read message. Put in your location, and someone with nanocom can program it onto springs. It's probably related to it trying to operate the compressor to adjust things.

How about investigating and fixing the SLS light being on? It gets unhappy if there are problems with the vehicle height, more so on increasing speed.

Usual problems are the seal between the plastic frame and the body. The other problem is the drain tubes in the tray. Either way, do it properly and take the r
