    PAS pump query

Thanks for that I seem to remember spinning it before and it not doing this, it’s not loud and more of a feeling than a noise but it seemed odd to me. Thing is, I think nothing lasts as long as original so I try not to change things until I’m sure Cheers Towsey

    Pas pump query

Hi all I took the serp belt off other day to look for a noisey bearing somewhere which I think is the alternator fitted on Christmas Eve. Anyway I noticed there’s a bit of play in the pas pump which I’m wondering about but also when I turn it anti-clockwise which is the way it turns when...

    R380 unusual leaking hole!

Just incase this is of any use to anyone, the centre hole of these 3 is about 10mm shallower than the other two, so the outer 2 are about 30mm and the middle 1 about 20mm, that's on my '55A-K' box anyway. And yes a bit of sealer on a short bolt sorted it Towsey

    Rear recovery point?

Thanks for digging that out for me, I already have the mounting plate hiding behind my bumper and I’m also going to make a tank guard. I like the idea of something poking out just past the spare for a number of reasons but don’t want something poking out by 6” or something like that, that was...

Disco 1 Tow bar fitting, rear bumper removal?

I only put some in from a different year disco, you might already have them? Don't quote me on this and I'm sure someone will correct me if needs be, 200's only had lights in pillars and no bumper lights at all then earlier 300's had full set of lights in pillars same as 200 but then extra...

Disco 1 Tow bar fitting, rear bumper removal?

I don’t know if this applies to you but I replaced my bumper bolts with stainless ones to make it easier to remove when going off road so it doesn’t get the corner caps pulled off of get bent upwards like I’ve seen before, and I’ve fitted light clusters in the pillars that have all the lights...

    R380 unusual leaking hole!

Hi all Just done clutch and some bits and had the trans’ jack bracket in the 3 triangular patterned holes in the bottom of the box, anyway now it’s weeping oil from the centre hole. All 3 bolts were the same length but I was wondering if it’s possible the casing has been damaged or if this is a...

    Has something gone drastically wrong?

When I took it off there was sealer round the race so I let some back in there again but not behind it. Going on what I’ve said here do you think I should have any concerns about the tbox, I don’t know how sensitive to accuracy they are, or is that answered by the green oval ha. I was just...

    Has something gone drastically wrong?

Thanks for that My clutch is only a valeo with the different coloured springs and wasn’t sold as HD but we will see. I was sure at the time that I didn’t lose any shims although I was a bit surprised to find the lower cup for the layshaft bearing floating around with a snap ring round it rather...
