    Injector part numbers/ compatability

It's easy to get confused with the part numbers. Also when you look at the various engine power outputs, this can make you believe there must be more than 2 different injectors. It's easy to know if you've got it wrong, your engine will run like a bag of spanners. Sorry for the short answer...

    Freelander 1 K series injectors

So I have a limited knowledge of the K, so take this with a pinch of salt. MYJ100430L for a K with a dizzy, will under fuel in later engines. MYJ100640 for ECU controlled engines, will over fuel at low speed and under fuel at high speed in a dizzy engine. MYJ100580P1 no firkin idea:p There's...

What brand was it? 3rd party sensors are renowned for failing, but as the Bosch is so expensive people buy the cheaper ones. Mike

    New to Landys

First thing. Stick a tank of quality fuel and a bottle of injector cleaner in it. Second, check for leaky turbo hoses. Is it kicking out black smoke? Could be the glow plugs are worn out. Instead of switching the ingnition straight on, turn to position 2 a couple or three times and let the glow...

    Freelander 1 egr bypass help

These kits are all slightly different. Usually the metal disc fits in the old stainless pipe to blank it off. Yes you can put a boost gauge on the small pipe bit. Don't forget to block the vacuum hose as well. Mike

Freelander 1 Injector cleaner for petrol engines

Miller's ecoboost works on my diesel. Ecomax is the petrol equivalent, recommended it to my mate who has a 2.0 petrol focus, and he's well chuffed with it. So yes I would recommend trying some. Mike

    Rom box? What is it?

MAP sensor is around £50. Very easy to change or clean. If you want to try cleaning it first, the sensor is held on by one 8mm(I think) bolt. Use contact cleaner and liberally spray it. Do not be tempted to stick anything down the small hole. You can blast the hole with cleaner. Mike

    Rom box? What is it?

That would suggest the MAP sensor is duff, but not 100%. A full service, oil and filter, air filter, also has the crankcase breather filter been changed or replaced with the newer version. When we're the turbo hoses last replaced. Have you cleaned the EGR valve and the manifold. Generally, it's...

    Rom box? What is it?

MAP sensor faults usually gives flat spots in the rev range and lack of power around 60-70mph. MAF sensor faults can give various issues such as over fuelling, smoke, lack luster performance. Vacuum noises can be from very small holes in the turbo pipes. Or vacuum leek's from the acumulator and...

    Rom box? What is it?

The MAP sensor is on the left hand side of the manifold as you look from the front of the engine bay. About the size of a small match box. You need to take the top cover off to get at it. Mike

@teddywood1 If it helps, when my TD4 auto did that and I couldn't find anything wrong with it and no codes were being thrown up. I took the MAF sensor out and blasted it with LiquiMoly MAF cleaner, then put a tank load of Texaco supreme diesel in with a double dose of Miller's eco boost and...

    Freelander 1 Skinny Mike's TD4 ES Auto

Today's job was to sort the T top sunroof out. It's been letting a small amount of water in that manages to drip straight on my glasses whilst driving, not ideal. So took the two glass panels out, then the T bar that has a spring release, then gently prised the rubber seal off. Didn't take any...
